The Break Up
My boyfriend, Bryon Hansen, and I had been together since last Summer. We met at Bob’s Playhouse (where I work), a knockoff version of ‘Chuck E. Cheese’. Bob’s playhouse has a Tall large flamingo as their mascot instead of the cheery rat with too-big-of-eyes like at Chuck E. Cheese‘s, though. And, all though they bear the same set up, there are still certain things that differ from the two competing play houses. 1: I have noticed over time that our jungle gyms are getting a bit rusty and have lost their shine, while Chuck E. Cheese’s seem to be in great shape. 2: In a way, we cheat our customers. Our manager, Rebecca, has replaced the arrows to the darts game with swerving arrows instead of the regulars so that you can never win on them. Instead of giving out the full amount of tokens for a 5 dollar bill, we cut them short two, but the customers never notice. 3: Bob’s playhouse is located in a deserted hallway at the far end off the mall. It’s almost hidden. When I first was going to apply for a job there, I couldn’t find it and had to ask the desk clerk for help. Which isn’t a very good sign. Considering, if you want moms with their little kids to trek all the way to the end of the mall while lugging a diaper bag and crying babies…….You’ve got another thing coming to you.

I was working at the playhouse one dreary Saturday afternoon, trying to pry a flailing three year old boy off of our plastic mascot by the front entrance when a boy, about my age, entered. His hair was blond, and reached down to the tip of his eyes. He was with a couple of his friends, all who were laughing and seemed to be having a good time. They were all carrying little miniature bottles of water.
When I finally managed to tug the crying boy off of the mascot, The guy who had entered earlier with the shaggy blond hair had retreated with his friends to a table closest to me. I noticed that the guy kept eyeing me from the corner of his eye and giving me a slight smile.
I was hesitant at first to take his order. I mean, He looked like he had just stepped out of a Hollister magazine. He was almost perfect looking. His hair was neatly trimmed, he was sporting a nice golden tan, and his eyes were a deep sea blue. I was almost intimated by him. Just as I was stepping up to his table, he flashed me a smile, and I chickened out and retreated to the kitchen to ask my co worker, Amanda to take his order for me. Amanda, the gorgeous red haired girl with perfect breasts ( At least a C- cup) and a pretty smile, spotted the guys and gave me a pleading look. “ Please! Samantha, I beg of you. I haven’t seated any guys yet, except for the fifty year old grandpa who kept winking at me.” She clasped her French manicured hands together in a praying formation. “ Fine.” I said sighing. “ Go ahead.” Amanda shrieked and then started to jump up and down. “ I owe you.” She smiled, and then practically bounced out of the kitchen to the guys. Ugggh, I sighed. I should have not been such a baby and gone out to serve those guys myself. After all, I hadn’t even been on a real date yet. Unless, you count that nerd with the braces who my mother set me up with. So, my mom told me over lunch one day that she knew the perfect guy for me. She hadn’t told me much about him except that he played the clarinet and she knew his mother from her Sunday Book club. She also told me that she set me up on a date with him for the upcoming Monday.
“ You know. Just for fun. I’m not saying you have to get married to the guy, Sam,” Mom had remarked, before gently stroking my arm. I had agreed, only to get my mother to stop harassing me. The guy that she set me up with was a frizzy red headed boy with braces and freckles running all across his face. He was a total jerk. Our date at the movies turned out to be a total make out session. Which wouldn’t have been that bad. If he knew how to kiss. He rammed his tongue down my throat while I just sat there effortlessly, trying to make up excuses in my mind on how I would get him off of me. His tongue felt like a dead slug. And the worst part about the date, his breath reeked off salami and beef jerky. And his braces were full of parsley and cheese chunks that kept landing on my tongue every once in a while.

Every single time when I had attempted to clean off a few tables by the guy with blond hair, My hands suddenly stopped wiping the tables and my eyes drifted over to Amanda and the guys. Lucky, I kept thinking in my mind. Amanda was laughing hysterically at something one of the guys had said. She was throwing back her head and giggling, batting her eyelashes. “ Your so funny!” Amanda cried out, playfully hitting one of the guys in the shoulder.
Once the guys were done eating, they bought a few tokens from our machine. I was in the kitchen, looking out the big glass window by the stoves, when someone yelled out, “ Boo!” I quickly jumped around and grabbed a kitchen knife from the counter

Which of these is a better birthday gift for my soon to be 2 year old…?

I want to buy my daughter a playhouse for her birthday. I am just having a really hard time deciding which one to get her. I would just like to add we live in TX, and I really like the full sized playhouses with a full door but my biggest fear is that it will be too hot inside during the summer and she will not want to play in it. So, if anyone can tell me if this has ever been a problem for them. Also, should I get a playhouse that I can move inside if I want to bring it in? Some are too big to fit through doors once they are assembled. Okay so here are my choices so far… any and all opinions and experiences are appreciated! They are in no particular order.

If you have either of these, personal reviews would be awesome as well!

House 1:

Thank you so much!
It is pricey BUT when you add shipping and tax to the other one they come out to be almost the same price. I know when I saw the price I held my breath, but I know my daughter will really enjoy it! Good thing because that’s the only thing mommy can afford for her b-day!

How do I tell my mom that I want to take my acting career to the next level…by acting?

I’ve done my research/ homework on acting. I know several resources were I can get auditions I do plays and I’ve been told by many people that I should be an actress and I didn’t even tell them that that’s what I want to do. I love this craft. I’m a go-getter, I see what I want and love and I go for it. I have already told my mom that I want to act now but it has been a while since we’ve talked about acting cause there has been no new play auditions at our local playhouses yet and I really want to get out there and do some commercial, print, and get small parts in movies and such to start off my career. My mom is behind me every step of the way, she said. And I want to tell her tonight before we go to bed, which will be in about 2-3 hours so please answer fast. How shall I bring up the ‘acting talk’ with my mom again? We’ve only had like 3 maybe 4 acting talks and I told her about acting at first in January of this year (2009). So yaaaa. Believe me I know what I’m getting into. When I love something it becomes apart of my life.. and I’ve loved acting since I was like 5 and I started to seriously consider it when I was 11. I’m currently 14.

What Do I Do? PLEASE HELP???

So… This whole mess that is now my life started very simply (ooh and to make it fun I’ll put it in story mode!)
I sat on the edge of the Middle School steps, waiting for the always late bus to come. I was sitting by two of my friends, Ali and Julianne. Then Julianne asked me, "Do you want a baby kitten?" I didn’t hesitate, even though I knew in the back of my head that I had a duck, an adult cat, a dog with two of her 6 month old pups, and 5 chickens. Definitely too many animals. But, there was an unstoppable urge to say yes, so they words burst out of my mouth, like a rocket that reached the end of a fuse. "YES! YES YES YES!" I screamed. Julianne looked at me like I was a new species of evil warthog. "Ok then…" She said. She told me that she had 2 black kittens, 1 Black and white one, and one calico one. I said I wanted the male black and white one. Julianne lives 9 houses away from me. She said she can come over to my house and give it to my mom, but I quickly objected. "Nooooooooooooo Way. My mom would kill me for making plans." But, I had a plan she wouldn’t know. My plan is the next day Julianne will come to my house, and i will watch from my room window. Julianna will have the cat with her. She will come to the window and I will give her the "coast clear" signal. The we will both run to the door, I will open it, grab the cat, and she will run. I am happy to say the plan worked perfectly.
I held the kitten up. It was really young, it had ALL of its kitten fur. Its eyes were still squinty, probably only opened a couple of days ago. I got some milk and the kitten licked it vigorously. Julianne had said the kits name was Cleopatra. I checked, he was a BOY. But, Im calling him Cleo, Julianne wouldve liked it. Now came the big thing, telling my parents. And LEING. I told them I had heard mewing at my window and i found the kitten and took it in. They bought it. They put the cat in a big box, it wasnt house trained. Then, that night my dad said "Tommorow early in the morning I will take that scrawnt cat to the pound. "NO!!!!" I yelled. I screamed. I called him very bad things. I got grounded in the process. Nothing worked. NOTHING. He went to bed, and i was awake. I waited, Waited, and waited. 12:00. I crept into the garage, got the kitten, and took cleo to the backyard. I have a playhouse there from when I was very little. I took him in there, put in a litter box, stocked up in kitten food (i snuck out of the house with my bike and went to tomthumb) and i used an empty two liter bottle of coke to hold water (of course i put the water in a dish). So, the cat crate is empty at the pound, no one noticed (lol?). And I have to hide a kitten in an abandoned playhouse. what do i do? what CAN i do? Will I be able to hide this lie? what DID i do?

Distressed Hottie
P.S. None of the names are real (except for Cleo).
NO WAY am i tellin my parents. and the kitten isnt cold, its texas. no ac in the playhouse. hot. summer. warm.

Did you get a "big" gift for your baby for their first birthday? If so what was it?

For your son or daughters first birthday did you get them a "big" gift say +? I am trying to decide exactly what we are going to get my daughter for her first birthday, and we are going up to toys r us to look today. I’ve been debating about whether or not to get her a playhouse, and the one I like "Naturally Playful Storybook Cottage" by Step 2, is on sale for a few more days and is almost 0 off. And shes getting the hang of walking but I dont know if shell be ready for it by July. We will be able to use it outside at least until the end of october maybe into november. So it might be worth it. She has a small swing set with a slide. And is getting a kitchen for christmas. Do you think I should go ahead with the playhouse, or get her some smaller things like baby dolls and such and get the house for 2nd b-day? Then shell appreciate it more? I have almost all her "big" gifts planned out, but I’m not sure about this one? What do you think, or any other ideas for a "big" gift?

I’m just not sure if this is to much of a "bigger" girl gift? Like if it would be better to hold off until she is 2 and get her maybe a smaller playhouse or just a bunch of smaller things. Like baby dolls and accessories and that stuff?
